Biotechnology

UMBC has strong academic programs in the life sciences led by a distinguished faculty of nearly fifty members spanning the Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. This established academic and research expertise in the biosciences provides a foundation for the following biotechnology programs:
- Master in Professional Studies (M.P.S.): Biotechnology
- Master of Science in Applied Molecular Biology
- Graduate Certificate in Professional Studies: Biotechnology Management
- Graduate Certificate in Biochemical Regulatory Engineering
- Regulatory Affairs for Biotechnology (non-credit)

With the exception of the MS in Applied Molecular Biology, all courses are offered in the evening to accommodate the schedule of working professionals interested in part-time programs. The UMBC campus is conveniently located just five minutes from BWI Airport, with easy access from I-95 and the 695 Beltway.
